Learners are eligible for credit for prior learning through two paths:

Transfer Credit - Learners can apply certain certificates towards their transfer credit minimum requirement. Learners may use up to 9 total credits with these certificates at 3 credits per certificate completion.
Replacement of Illinois Tech Courses - There are a small number of certificates that can be utilized to replace core Illinois Tech coursework.

Coursera MBA students can transfer in one (1) Coursera professional certificate for up to three (3) credits towards their program. The certificate can waive one specialization course.

Coursera MIT students can transfer in one (1) Coursera professional certificate for up to three (3) credits towards their program. The certificate can waive one (1) core course.

Note: this is the NOT correct form to submit the Google IT Support Technical Certificate to waive MIT's Performance-Based Admission (PBA) courses. Instead, please fill out the PBA registration form here.

Coursera MDS students can transfer in 2-3 Coursera professional certificates for up to six (6) credits towards the capstone. Each certificate can be worth 2-4 credits.

Coursera BIT students can apply a maximum of 18 credits to the degree; however, only 9 of these credits can count toward the total transfer credits required to obtain the BIT.

Up to 9 credits can be applied to the major curriculum while up to another 9 credits can apply to the core curriculum, which is required to be completed through transfer credit.
1 certificate is equivalent to 3 credits. Multiple certificates can be submitted until the maximum is reached.
